Baby Jogger City Mini Stroller Description

The newest edition of the Baby Jogger City Mini Single features a few adjustments to the stroller seat, improving upon Baby Jogger’s most popular lightweight, urban stroller. The City Mini is a quality lightweight and compact stroller, perfect for city dwellers and those looking for a travel-friendly, portable stroller. The newly designed seat provides more comfort and support for your precious passenger, and allows for more upright seating.

Standout Features:

  • Includes removable PE board for additional back support to the seat
  • Upright Strap pulls the seat back forward for more upright seating
  • Folds in one simple step

  • Lightweight (16.8 lbs) and easy to maneuver
  • Front wheel suspension for a smooth ride
  • Padded seat with near flat recline

Benefits for You: The Baby Jogger City Mini is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it the perfect urban stroller for running those everyday errands. Baby Jogger’s unique, one-hand fast fold allows you to fold the entire stroller by lifting a single handle, located in the stroller seat, making it easy to store in the trunk of your car. For even more travel-friendly convenience, the City Mini’s 8″ foam wheels are fitted with special quick-release mechanisms that allow for easy on and off.

The City Mini stroller features a rounded handlebar for your pushing comfort. The front wheel suspension makes this Baby Jogger extremely easy to maneuver on even terrain, and the front wheel locks forward for added control over rough terrain. The City Mini features ample storage space in the basket beneath the seat and smaller pockets behind the seat for your necessities. The universal accessory mounting bracket allows the City Mini to accept additional Baby Jogger accessories.

Compatibility: With purchase of the Car Seat Adapter the City Mini Single is compatible with most popular infant car seats including:

  • Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30
  • Chicco KeyFit
  • Chicco KeyFit 30
  • Maxi Cosi Mico
  • Graco SnugRide
  • Graco SnugRide 32
  • Evenflo infant car seats

Benefits for Baby: The seat of the City Mini now provides your little one with more back support with the removable PE board. The deep seat is thickly padded and can drop back to a near full recline or sit upright so your child can see the world. The Upright Strap is a Velcro strap attached to the back of the stroller seat that wraps around the stroller frame and pulls the seat back forward for more upright seating.

The Baby Jogger City Mini is equipped with a 5-point harness with padded shoulder straps and can accommodate up to 50 lbs, including its storage capacity. Along with being padded, comfortable and secure, your child will stay cool and shaded with the vented seat top and retractable weather cover for maximum shading. Baby Jogger offers one of the best retractable sun canopies and features a clear view window on the top of the canopy with magnetic enclosures so you can keep an eye on the little one while you stroll.

Safety:

  • Meets or exceeds all ASTM standard
  • 5-point harness
  • Parking brake
  • Reflective stitching
  • JPMA Certified

Comparison: The City Mini is certainly light and maneuverable, but its weight capacity (50 lbs.) somewhat limits its long-term usability. For a stroller with nearly identical features but a weight capacity of 75 lbs, check out the popular Baby Jogger City Elite. The Elite features larger 12″ wheels for more all-terrain capabilities. However, its larger stature makes it about 10 lbs heavier than the City Mini.

Similar to the City Mini, the mountain buggy swift is designed light and built compact. Although not as light as the Baby Jogger, at 21 lbs the swift is easy to maneuver and features a lockable front swivel wheel for stability over uneven surfaces. Although not as small and compact as the City Mini, the swift features 10″ wheels and can accommodate up to 77 lbs.

This is a good stroller, it folds amazingly easily and is very maneuverable. However I have found it is not as stable as I would like with the car seat adapter and car seat installed. If I am not extra careful turning corners or if I am on a somewhat uneven surface it tips. I have a Peg Perego car seat. I previously had a Peg Perego stroller and the seat fit low into the stroller and was much more stable. Overall I still prefer this stroller however since I can use one hand to steer in general and still have another available to hold my toddler’s hand when needed. I’m a little disappointed that it did not come with a rain cover since this seems standard with other strollers.

Wow ! This stroller is just fantastic. I have had so many pushchairs and this is the best by far and definately scores 10 out of 10. My 2 year old daughter just loves this stroller. Unlike many other strollers on the market this one has a huge roomy seat and an amazingly large canopy. Everything on the stroller has been so well thought out. We especially love the snack tray as this keeps my daughter amused and I also have found the parent console a god send. The unique fold is incredible and the stroller is extremely easy to maneuver and is also very light. Anyone thinking of buying one of these will not be dissapointed its just superb. I will never be putting my money with anyone else now but Baby Jogger.

We love this stroller! It’s perfect to get around town, lightweight, smooth ride over bumps, grass, curbs. Easy to get through small city grocery stores. Can be broken down while holding the baby. I actually ordered the Elite and City Mini. The elite was too big for us. Great price. Also, fits in a small hatchback trunk with plenty of room for other gear! SO HAPPY WITH THIS STROLLER!

My oldest son is almost 14 and I have been through MANY strollers. I wish I had bought this one from the start and had I known about it I would have. I did a lot of research before purchasing this stroller. I needed it for a newly 3 year old to take to Disney World in Florida. This was the ONLY stroller he fit into without hitting his head or having his feet dangle over the end. The sunshade is PERFECT for the Florida sun. I am now expecting my fourth baby and I recently bought the car seat adapter, bassinet/pram and parent console. I love how they change the stroller completely. It is so versatile. I love how easy this stroller collapses and it was perfect for the buses we took in Florida to each of the parks. It took up little room on the bus and was not in the way of anyone as it folded and stored in front of our legs. This stroller turns on a dime and does not get in the way in isles or in busy crowds. It was a dream and our son slept in it which is impressive for a 3 year old! Now I look forward to our new baby using it.

    Jealous Stares

I have to say that I love this stroller. It is exactly what I need. It folds smaller than the travel systems, is light weight and easy to use. I went to a big box baby store and tried out one of the travel systems but couldn’t fold it and it was so heavy and cumbersome. I can hold baby and fold this and put it in my car. Even with it in my trunk there is still room for groceries! We get jealous stares from other mommies when we are out and they see how easy it is to use. One of my friends told me it would be worth having another baby to have this stroller! To start I purchased the car seat adapter and the parent tray as accessories. As baby grows we will definitely get the tray and possibly the travel bag for flying. I was trapped in a shopping mall on the wrong floor and elevator didn’t work to take me to my parking garage level. The only way to get to the car was to fold the stroller and carry it and baby in his car seat up two flights of stairs. I was able to do it but doubt it would have happened with any other stroller!

Just had my 5th baby in July of 2009 and purchased the City Mini single stroller after researching many other models. There is a 5 year difference between my youngest child and my infant. In the course of 11 years, I have owned many single and double strollers, including Peg Perego, Graco and Combi models. I no longer needed a double stroller, so I opted for this City Mini model. It is the best baby stroller I have ever used. I can fold and unfold it using only one hand. It is lightweight and extremely easy to use. When you have 5 children to mind in a busy parking lot, the last thing you need is to fiddle with getting your stroller in and out of the car. I am able to close my stoller and pop it right into my Suburban in a snap! The City Mini turns on a dime and can be maneuvered with one hand. I purchased the optional parent console and child belly bar as well, and would highly recommend them to others. The sunshade is generously oversized to shield my baby from the rays, but I am able to peek at her through the two clear windows at the top. Make sure your car seat is compatible with the optional adapter. I wish I had this when my first child was born because it has made things so much easier for me to take my sweet baby with me where ever we go!

I love my city mini! It has great maneuverability, the sunshade is HUGE, and my baby is so comfy inside! Also, did I mention how ridiculously easy it is to fold? one pull and it’s collapsed! I just wish it came with accessories (like rain cover and cup holder), but they are easy to find and buy separately. Also the basket is hard to access. Otherwise I am very pleased with my city mini and would buy it again and again!

This is a great stroller ! I should know I have owned at least 10 others including Maclarens and Peg Preggos. This is by far the best. You really can fold it with one hand while holding your child. It has very few features but you can purchase the extras, I did I bought the cooler, child tray, foot muff, all have worked well. The only negative thing that I have to say is that I plan to purchase the double and none of the extras will work for both the single and the double so I will have to buy all new accessories which gets really expensive. Also be careful of the color that you choose. I have the red and black which is great (black fabric by foot rest) but a friend has the green and gray it is only 3 months old and the foot rest area (which has fabric on it) is already looking stained and dirty from her 2 year old climbing in and out. I know that she also loves the stroller but is disappointed in her color choice. Overall I love it, my baby loves it, I would buy it again.

After a four month and very expensive process I finally found the perfect stroller. I purchase the perego aria which the lock broke in a matter of three weeks. The chicco cortina was huge. The chicco trevi was useless. And the perego pliko is over priced and over rated.(You need to be a rocket scientist to fold it up) The city mini strolls better than all of them and is extremely easy to fold. You can actually hold your child in one arm and fold the stroller with your other hand. It will fit in the smallest of trunks. (I have a VW bug) I live in Florida and finally there is a stroller with a big enough sun canopy. My 4 month old laughs every time I put him in the stroller and it is the only place he will nap. It is great you can accessorize it with the things you need.

I’ve had this stroller for two years now, (my child is 3) and love it love it love it! So easy to fold with one hand, so light, beautiful, and small enough for the mall. I was not looking forward to getting something else for baby #2, but with research, found out there’s a car seat adaptor you can buy for the stroller, so I’m sticking with the city mini for another two years! Love it!

All the raves online ARE TRUE- this stroller does really rock! in 10 short months I’ve had the bugaboo frog (rediculous), quinny buzz (huge and heavy), peg pliko (huge piece of plastic), and bob revolution (just too much jogger for my non-jogging needs). FINALLY I have the PERFECT stroller for our needs- daily walks with the dog and shopping! The Baby Jogger City Mini folds way too easy, its amazing. The canopy is fab like the BOB, and it has TWO windows to see baby. Did I mention it looks so sleek? Much better than the boring Bugaboos i’m always seeing. MOST importantling for us mall hoppers- my big ju ju be tote does not tip the stroller when baby is taken out! I cannot believe this stroller cost 1/4 of the Bugaboo- and check out all of the accessories baby jogger makes for the mini- parent console, belly bar, child tray, car seat holder….does bring up the price, but it’s so cheap to begin with, who cares? For baby #2 i will be getting the Baby Jogger City Mini double for sure!

If you are looking for a lightweight stroller that actually maneuvers well, easy to fold, has a great sun canopy and is well equipped with many accessories, then buy this stroller now!!! I did extensive research on MANY lightweight strollers (returning all of them and figuring I was never going to find what I wanted in a stroller before I found this one)… nothing compares to the Mini! And it is only 17bls. I can take my son out, hold him in one arm, fold the stroller at the same time and throw it in the trunk of the car. Amazing. The canopy is the bomb! What a concept to actually make a stroller where the canopy can literally cover the child from the sun (unlike so many other lame canopies out there) and has 2 peekabo windows (got to love that). A lightweight stroller that has a child tray, not many out there and this one is awesome. My son does sit a little low right now for the tray (since the stroller has a deep seat) -he is 17 mo’s – but he has no problem reaching his crackers and has a cup holder too! It has 2 baskets (one under neath and one behind the seat) that work out just fine for us. And you can lower the back of the seat all the way down if the child falls asleep. I also purchased the parent console, which is nice to have, but at times is a bit inconvenient because of the way it sits, but still works just fine for snacks, cell phone, drink, etc. Overall I am in love with this stroller and only wished I found it earlier…Buy it… you won’t regret it! We love it!!!

If you are the type of parent who wants a jogging stroller for trips to the park or other outdoor adventures, sans jogging, this stroller is for you. Otherwise, buy a BOB if you seriously are going to run. This stroller is extremely easy to fold, just grab a strap in the middle and pull – viola! The sun canopy is also great as it extends further than most others and includes windows for viewing your little one. It pushes easily, uses only one action to engage the brakes, and the wheels handle dirt trails with ease. At 8 inches, the wheels are not imposing, and it will fit in the smallest of trunks. It has adequate storage and the back recline is so-so, but if it’s storage you are looking for i.e. shopping trips or long excursions and comfort, get a Peg Perego Pliko P3. For the airport and limited space, buy a Maclaren. Hope this helps!
