I’m frugal by nature and, while I had friends who recommended this stroller, the price tag on it frightened me so I bought a cheaper double… then sold it. Then I bought another double… then sold it. Finally, I splurged on the City Mini and it is a keeper! It fits easily in my Civic’s trunk, stores in my entry closet, maneuvers like a dream, and both my girls (10 mon and 2.5 yrs) love riding in it. I walk the dog with my girls twice a day and take my girls on lots of outings, so a good stroller was essential. If you are a heavy stroller user, like me, the price tag is definitely worth it; save yourself the buy-dislike-sell game I played and just get this one!

Let’s be honest. There is no perfect double (or single, for that matter) stroller out there. I have owned this stroller for over a year now. When my second child was first born, we purchased the Baby Jogger City Series double, which we had the single version of. I was obsessed with air filled tires and their ease over every terrain. However, in the double version, it was a truck. I literally could not lift it– I’m not the strongest, but not a weakling either– to put it in our car. I really didn’t want to spend even another $100 on a stroller for our car, since the BJ would only be used occasionally anyway. The city mini had just come out recently and after hearing rave reviews from friends we decided to exchange ours. It is as light as my single City Series stroller. It is in all ways better or comparable except for the following two things: 1) the seats are smaller, and by smaller I mean narrower, and my kids are not large and 2) alas, a lighter stroller means no air filled tires. And there is DEFINITELY a difference of ease in pushing air filled tires across a lawn vs rubber ones. In any case, I guess you can’t have everything. This is as good as it gets.

This stroller is worth the cost. It swivels on a dime. There’s only been ONE narrow store door I couldn’t get into. The kids love it. The canopy is great. The storage bin underneath is a bit cumbersome but works well anyhow. Nice stroller. I recommend it for any mother with twins or children close in age.

I’ve owned over 10 (yes 10) double strollers…i always come back to this one running! bottom line- this one folds like no other, great fabric (wipes super easy), HUGE sunshades (i’m in so. cal- this is a must), lots of storage on back of both seats and underneath (it is annoying to access tho), windows to see baby, flat flat recline (no need for car seat adaptor!), EASY push with toddler and baby, and it’s small to boot! really this is the best, don’t try to save a few bucks on something else- you’ll regret it, trust me! so glad i don’t have a huge monster double BOB like lots here in so cal or a rattly graco

Hi I just got the City Mini Double and I really love this stroller. I have been know to have at the most 5 strollers at a given time. Since buying this double stroller, I have gotten rid of all the others. This stroller is amazing. I have a two year old and 5 month old and this is the best stroller for this age range. The shades are great, they cover the kids just enough. The stroller took me about 10 minutes to put it together and the best thing it fits right through our standard hallway in our house.
I also want to add that I had contacted your customer service and they were so nice and helpful. I had questions about the accessories that could be added to the stroller and they were quick to respond to let me know.
I love the fact that I won’t have to buy another double stroller ever. Its easy to push, light to pick up and its just so comfy for our kids! This is a great stroller. We have added a few accessories: parent consoles, belly bar and two trays.
The only negative is that when its folded there is nothing to keep it in that position. But that can easily be fixed with some creativity, but for the price, I think something should be on it or be added to it (if they do come out with something). The accessories are a bit pricey and they could add some of the stuff to the stoller. The trays tip a bit and the belly bar sits pretty high but when the kids are older it will be nice.
Thanks for a great stroller and I can’t wait to take it on vacation!

I previously wrote a review titled “Wish I Liked it More” with a rating of 3 stars. I have owned this stroller for 2 years now, and have a complete change of heart. Initially I had an issue with the seat cover popping off of the snaps, but after two seat replacements from the manufaturer, the issue was resolved. My kids are now 2 and 4 weighing 27 & 37 pounds and it still pushes better than any other stroller I’ve tried. My 4 year old (who is not small) can still nap comfortably with the seat fully reclined. Be careful however, with 2 big kids reclined back it doesn’t take much to tip backwards. It can easily be turned 360 degrees on a dime, with one hand. Fits through every door, in every store I’ve every been too. I learned how to fold it by standing behind the handle and leaning over the seat to pull the folding straps, this keeps the handle from hitting the ground when folded. It has held up really well, with only a few worn spots on the seat cover, where it wraps around the frame. I recommend it to everyone who asks about it, and it always draws attention from mom’s with tandem strollers, who don’t like their own strollers. I also attached a large carabiner clip to the handle and hang my bag, since it never fit very well under the seat. Everything else (blankets, jackets, water bottles) fits well in the mesh pockets on the seat backs and under the seats. The seat belts are annoying to adjust, but aren’t they all. It’s worth the price, and now I don’t, “Wish I Liked More”… I love it.

This stroller is great for two kids if you have a small trunk area. We bought it to fit in our Prius; which it did, beautifully. The seats wipe off really easily, and the one step fold is really a snap. BUT it does not steer easily at all. It’s also impossible to access the storage area below the seats. I’m checking out the City classic and probably swapping mine just because of those two issues.

Great double stroller! I have a taller 2 year old and a 9 month old. Both fit well in the stroller and are comfortable. My daughter (the two year old) probably won’t fit as well in about a year or so but that will be fine. Pros: steers well (super easy!), fits through doors, not too big and bulky like most double strollers, and folds up super easy, fits into my trunk (I have a 2005 honda accord) with room to spare, very efficient to use for me and comfortable for the kids. I’m on my own with the two kids alot during the day and it’s easy for me to handle on my own (last double stroller I owned, my husband had to fold and store it away since it was too heavy for me!). Cons: my daughter and son like to look at each other and play even while riding in a stroller but the design of this stroller doesn’t allow them to do that (not a big deal for me but if you are looking for that riding/sitting together feel, you won’t get that here). Not enough storage on the bottom of the stroller and not easy to get to. When I have to put my diaper bag down there, i feel like i am forcing it through and it’s hard to get anything out of there once it is packed away. No cupholder or such for the parent (again, not a big deal for me but if you are looking for that the city mini accessories/add ons are expensive. You can always find options elsewhere like Babies R Us sells stroller clasps that you can add a cupholder, and such, to.). Seats recline (perfect for naps!). overall, I love this stroller! I bought mine for $320 – worth it!!!!! I researched high and low for a good double stroller. I didn’t want to spend $500 or more on a stroller but the $200 or less stroller just weren’t cutting it for me…

We have been very happy with the Baby Jogger City Mini. We do not actually use it for jogging, but it probably logs at least 2-3 miles per day on Chicago sidewalks throughout the year. It has performed well but does show expected signs of wear after one year. Easy to push and our one year old and tall two-year old are both comfortable in it. This stroller has “just” made it through store and restaurant doorways in the city that other strollers would not pass. Sometimes, 1/2 or 1/4 inch made the difference of easily passing versus not making it inside. The only reason we don’t give it 5 stars is the lower storage is difficult to access, difficult to resnap, and can’t carry much. Over time with normal use, it has been incorrectly re-snapped and none of us remember how to correctly attach it. The result is that it hangs a little too low and the fabric wore a couple small holes from rubbing against the pavement. There are a couple storage slots behind each child, and, when the seats are not reclined, things can be placed in a makeshift bag that forms behind the child’s head. We are 5’10″ and 6′ tall and find the height of the unadjustable handlebar adequate for long walks, but not ideal.

After a couple of months of use, including a trip to Disney World, we have nothing but good things to say about the City Mini. The stroller’s size and maneuverability handled the crowds, walking surfaces and transportation system at Disney World with ease. The wonderful canopies protected our infant and toddler from the Florida sun when they needed a break; and, there is plenty of storage space for sticking all the mouse ears and stuff we managed to acquire at the parks. For those with unfolding problems, look for the strap marked “storage strap” under the stroller to secure it in the closed position. I’m not sure why BJ neglected to document this in the manual.

I have used a variety of strollers for my two sons, now 4 years and 2 1/2 years old. I very recently purchased the Baby Jogger City Mini for my daily/casual use in Los Angeles (shopping, walking to the park, etc. — no jogging or off-roading). I find this stroller really fits the bill. It easily collapses to fold and fits into the trunk of my sedan. It fits through any door, period, which is very convenient when you’re trying to navigate a crowd of people. Although I sympathize somewhat with reviews that complain about the height allowance, I have two tall, older children who fit just fine. My four year old may be a little snug, but then again, he’s a four year old in a stroller. Great investment; I wish I had bought this stroller when my second was a newborn.
